Platinum Tattoos & Piercings calls itself a family-friendly shop for custom tattoos and body piercings. The company says it got its start in 2000. Its home base is on the northwest side of San Antonio, near Leon Valley and Helotes.
The shop says its goal is top-tier ink and piercings done safely, in a studio it describes as clean and licensed. It also says walk-ins are welcome, so you don't always need to plan ahead. The shop reports discounts for military members, first responders and folks it calls heroes.
For a bit of local color, about 70% of homes in San Antonio heat with electricity, per the American Community Survey (2024). The city averages 34.7 inches of precipitation and 0.1 inches of snow a year, per NOAA normals for 1991 to 2020.
The shop says each of its artists brings a distinct style, and custom work sits front and center. On the piercing side, it names options from tragus to simple lobe piercings. It says its piercers will talk you through which style suits you best.
The company describes strict sterilization steps and medical-grade equipment in the studio. Its website also lists a second, piercings-only spot at North Star Mall.
From the outside, the shop holds a 4.7 rating across 4,909 Google reviews. Reviewers mention friendly staff and a very clean studio most often. Many also talk about artists who stay patient with nervous first-timers and explain each step, aftercare included.
The shop states that it would rather let its finished work make the case for it, and says one look at a piece should tell you why folks around town trust it.
